The History of Taekwon-Do

Taekwon-Do has evolved from a variety of martial arts that have existed in and around Korea over the last 2000 years.   It was originally conceived by General Choi Hong Hi.

Taekwon-do is an empty-handed form of combat for self-defence.  Tae means 'to Kick' or 'Smash with the feet,' Kwon implies 'punching' or 'destroying with the hand or fist,"'and Do means 'way' or 'method'.
